Before you put your home in style, put your home to safe. Just follow this hint.
Check all electrical outlets for loose fitting plugs. Did you know that a loose connection can be indicative of a worn receptacle of plug which can cause overheating and fires.
Fashion Notes for the Home:
Indecisive on your home style?…no more. A home show can give you the best ideas in the market. Eco friendly and no eco friendly home accessories are available everywhere from the Mall department stores to the Outlets Plazas.
No help from the home show to decide?, no worries just look at the most current magazines. Remember that magazines are six months to a year ahead in colors, fibers and textures. Considering going Eco-green? Watch closely, it involves more than just green keep educating you in what this concept involves.
If you already have an idea which style to go with, now put it together in a mood board. You need to include photos of things that you actually have and will not change and new things. Make a list and start shooting, get a plain color carton board or a board in the color of your walls or new wall paint. Include photos of furniture, lamps, art, flowers, wall accessories, rugs/carpet. If you decide to keep the furniture, like I did, then put all these accessories intended to match your favorite couch for example, using the seat as the base. Immediately you will know if you have decided for the right style, colors, shapes, textures, fibers, proper layering but more important the functional role.
My style is modern, minimalist. That means simple, sleek and clean with a lot of available space. Go traditional for a long term change. Consider neutrals or bold with luxurious fabrics and rich colors.
If you need your windows appear larger, hang the window treatments at the ceiling height. It will make your space more dramatic and your ceilings higher.
Live up you home with naturals, natural plants that is. Bring the outdoors inside. Look for low maintenance plants like, ferns and orchids. Place them in corners, mantels or table centerpiece.
Is always a good idea to keep a list of your things. Go room by room and inventoried item by item. Maybe you will like to start in your kitchen or the room that is less clutter. This could be a family project where everyone can contribute time and effort and is fun too. Be ready to smile when you find the misplaced items. Also here is the opportunity to de-clutter your home before putting in action your plan for a new style.
Keep it simple, beautiful, unique and innovative.
