Easy Chocolate Cake

Description

Chocolate cake with chocolate chips melted on top. Usually serves 4 to 6, although sometimes it only serves 1 or 2.

Try this with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 2⁄3 c unbleached all purpose flour (do not use self-rising)
  • 1 c brown or granulated sugar (packed)
  • 1⁄4 c cocoa
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1⁄2 t salt
  • 1 c water
  • 1⁄3 c vegetable oil
  • 1 t vinegar
  • 1⁄2 t vanilla
  • 1⁄2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix flour, brown sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt with a fork in an ungreased square pan; 8x8x2 inches.

Mix in remaining ingredients except chocolate chips.

Sprinkle chocolate chips over batter.

Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 35-40minutes.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
